FAQs

No, you don't need to pay! You can enter the venue, bar, arcades and our VR area for free. We also have plenty of seating available so you can grab food and drinks and relax!
Level X does not operate a dress code policy, however our venues are family friendly. Guests may be refused entry if they are wearing anything that could cause offence.
We recommend you try Level X for yourself in order to get the full experience. Once you've chosen your gaming experience and your preferred date and timeslot, add everything to your basket. Make sure everything is correct before you confirm, but once you've done that, you'll receive an email with all details. When you arrive, a member of our team will direct you to your chosen world. Tip - arrive 30 minutes before your booking in order to enjoy Level X to its fullest.
Unfortunately, bookings are non-refundable and non-transferable. Trust us, you won't want to cancel!
Glasgow: We are open from 10am until late daily. Middlesborough: Monday - Thursday: 3pm - late, Friday: 11am - late, Saturday - Sunday: 10am - late and during school holidays: 10am daily.
Glasgow: Yes, St Enoch Shopping Centre has 900 parking space offering direct access via Maxwell Street. Middlesbrough: Yes, Captain Cook Square has an easily accessible multi-storey car park with over 700 spaces. You can get two hours of free parking.

Absolutely, all you have to do is purchase the games and time slots you want to play. We have VR pods with 20+ games available and also three VR arenas where you can play alongside your friends. Just make sure you select the correct VR type when booking.
There are three differences between the karts: 1) Reduced speed is a slower race with restricted speed. This is ideal for our younger guests or those who want to build up their confidence. 2) Gaming style - think Mario Kart! This is a fully immersive and interactive multi-level race track. Battle it out for victory and leave the losers in your dust. 3) Full speed races have no restrictions and are aimed at confident adults.

Races involve multiple groups, so you'll get to experience competing with others. We hope you're feeling competitive!
Unfortunately time slots are fixed so that we can manage safe and fair gaming areas. It's best to arrive early to avoid missing out on your session.
Of course you can. Head over to the kiosks in the venue to purchase additional credits.
We recommend arriving 30 minutes before your session so that you can enjoy all Level X has to offer. Make sure you grab your drinks!
You have two options: 1) reply to your email confirmation, asking to add more people onto your booking. If we have availability, our team will send you a new payment link. OR 2) give the venue a quick call, a member of our team will be happy to help.
We do accept walk-in guests, but we recommend pre-booking to make sure you don't miss out. We will always try to accommodate visitors whenever we can. Full payment is required at the time of booking.
Only food purchased at Level X can be eaten in venues. We have a range of sweet treats on offer, plus alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks available.
We would absolutely love you to! If we're open, the arcades are open.
Level X is a fully cashless venue. We accept debit and credit cards, Apple and Google Pay on all payment terminals. Whilst we accept Amex for online bookings, we do not accept it in venues.
Table service is only available on the bowling lanes. Scan a QR code or see a member of the team to place an order. Once you've ordered, keep an eye on the screens for your number!

Unfortunately, we don't offer kids parties at the moment. However, be sure to sign up for our mailing list to receive updates and offers here.  
Level X is a family friendly venue and allow children of all ages in our venues, however children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an 18+ adult. Children aged 12-17 can visit unaccompanied until 7pm; if accompanied by an adult, they can stay until 9pm. Please be aware, after 9pm, Level X is an 18+ only venue. Management retain the right to refuse entry to anyone, who is unable to prove their age with a passport/driving license, when asked. Please note, photocopies or photographs will not be accepted. Some games may not be appropriate for younger children - our recommended age is 8+. Our venue team will be happy to provide assistance.
We have lockers available which can be used free of charge. Ask a member of our team who will be happy to assist you.
You'll be pleased to know that 'those silly shoes' are optional and free of charge to wear. However, heels and open toed shoes aren't permitted on the lanes so you will have to wear them if you come to venues wearing either.
Whilst we love animals, we can only allow assistance dogs in the venues.
Glasgow: our arcades, VR area and bowling lanes are fully accessible. Unfortunately, due to the nature of the game, golf isn't as it has steps on the course, but if you speak to a member of our team in the venue about your needs, they will be able to offer advice. Middlesbrough: our arcades, VR area, bowling and darts are fully accessible and both floors can be accessed via a lift. Golf, karting and dodgems have limited accessibility, but if you speak to a member of our team in the venue about your needs, they will be able to offer advice.

E-Karts are immersive go karts that give you a live action video game experience. Think Mario Kart but make it reality. You’ll be racing real karts around tracks in a augmented world, with virtual power ups to use against your competition.

Using tech infused electric karts and augmented reality technology, we’re able to bring your karting experience to life.

Most racing events, unless stated otherwise should last no more than 30 minutes.

Guests will be asked to sign a waiver prior to driving. The 30 minute time slot booked includes – signing waiver, getting ready your helmet, safety video and an approx. 8 minute race.

We advise to wear as comfortable clothing as possible. We provide everything you need to get behind the wheel, including a protective helmet.

  • Wearing a helmet is compulsory. Balaclavas are available for purchase, however, these are not compulsory.
  • No high heels or open toed shoes.
  • All scarves, sashes or loose flowing clothing must be removed.
  • All hair must be tied up and jewellery removed.

For your own safety, we do not recommend karting for those with the following conditions:

  • Heart problems
  • Pregnant
  • Have epilepsy
  • Have any back or neck conditions
  • Have limited use in their limbs (both legs or one arms)
  • You must be at least 4ft 9+ to take part.
  • A waiver will be signed by all customers before participation.

No, you don’t need a driving licence, although you should be physically fit enough to control and maneuver the kart.

Yes, if you want to spectate or cheer on your friends or family, there are places to view the track from our arcades.

Pro races will have a kart speed of 25mph and is available for ages 18 and above. Whereas family races will be reduced speed races with a kart speed of 17mph, available for all to ages 8 and up, including adults. The minimum height for both races is 4ft 9+ and will last 8 minutes.

Timings are as follows:

Reduced speed races: 3pm and 4pm (9am and 10am during half term)

Game of karts: 4pm until 9pm (10.30pm until close during half term)

Pro races: 9pm until close

No, if any members of staff suspect anyone to be under the influence of alcohol or illegal drugs, they will not be permitted to take part and will not be eligible for a refund. We do this to ensure the safety of everyone. Alcoholic drinks are only allowed to be consumed after you have finished karting.
